Járai's monetary policy
Járai Zsigmond – President of the Hungarian National Bank held his position on a “hard-line” monetary policy followed by the bank in front of the Parliament’s Economic Committee. According to him a weaker forint would enable us to achieve lower inflation only if coupled with a much more rigorous, belt tightening policy on budget and wages. At the same time he recognized that the forint is too strong.
Fidesz supports the NB President and former Minister of Finance Járai who was attacked several times since the new administration took office.
